Turkish company Baykar plans to show a documentary on the stages of development of the modern fighter jet "Bayrakdar Aknji", which is the first home-made unmanned attack aircraft in Turkey, with high technological capabilities.
The pilot company in the drone industry said in a statement Friday that the documentary will be shown on its YouTube channel on Sunday, on the first day of Eid Al Fitr.
The film bears the name "Akanji" and highlights the production march of this advanced marching plane, which is the first of its kind produced by Turkey in the category of unmanned attack fighters.
Seljuk Bayrakdar, the technical manager of the company, published excerpts from the documentary through his account on a social networking site, in preparation for its full presentation on the first day of the holiday, at 20.23 (17.23 GMT) via the "Baykar Tecnologies" channel on YouTube.
The documentary was directed by Al-Tug Gultan and Burak Al-Asawi, and it took more than a year to complete it.
Filming took place for several months at the company's facilities for the production and development of national armed and unarmed drones in Istanbul, as well as filming at the air base in which the fighter was tested by Bayrakdar Akinci, in the Chorlu region in the state of Tekirdag northwest of Turkey.
The documentary project, which started in February 2019, was completed within 15 months.
The film highlights the last six challenging and diligent six months before the fighter made its first flight on December 6, 2019.
The film reviews interviews with the technical director of the company, Selcuk Bayrakdar and the leaders of engineering units, explaining the stages of work on the aircraft project.
Air and ground tests will be carried out through two prototypes
One prototype of the Bayrakdar Akenji PT-1 aircraft conducted its second flight on January 10, 2020, as part of a test.
A second prototype called PT-2 has also been sent to the Chorlu Air Force Base, where the tests are completed.
Turkey will be one of the 3 countries that produce this type of fighter jet
Thanks to Bayrakdar Aknji attack helicopter, which was produced by Baycare company with its expertise and advanced technologies in the manufacture of marches, Turkey will become one of the first three countries in the world to develop drones of this type.
The 20-meter twisted-wing wings, together with fully automatic flight control and autopilot, will provide high safety for sorties.
Thanks to the useful load capacity, "Akenji" will be able to perform tasks by equipping it with homemade ammunition and weapons such as the SOM cruise missiles.
And the plane is equipped with many advanced tools, such as Radar (AESA), camera (EO / IR), satellite messaging systems, electronic support systems and advanced artificial intelligence, and others.
It is able to collect information by recording data it receives from onboard sensors and cameras through 6 computers equipped with advanced artificial intelligence.
The artificial intelligence system can detect horizontal and vertical angles and inclination without the need for any external sensor or GPS.
The advanced artificial intelligence system is characterized by the ability to make decisions by processing the data it obtains.
The artificial intelligence system that can detect terrestrial targets that the human eye cannot discover makes a more effective use of "bungee".
The synthetic aperture radar allows the attack plane to take pictures even in bad weather conditions, in which the opto-electric system is having difficulty capturing.
The aircraft is equipped with a meteorological radar and another for multi-purpose weather, as it will be the leader in unmanned aircraft.
It can also fly two homemade 240 HP (2×240 HP) engines, produced by the Turkish company, Air and Space Industries.
The aircraft is designed to be able to fly with different engines, and to fly with two engines of 750 hp (2×750 HP).
The plane can fly up to 40,000 feet, and fly for 24 hours.
It can carry a total beneficial load of alpha and 350 kg, in the form of 400 kg internal load and 950 kg external.
The weight of the aircraft at take-off is 5 thousand and 500 kg, and it is flying two turbocharged engines with a capacity of 450 hp.
