On Friday, Turkey expressed its condolences to Pakistan over the victims of the plane that crashed near the airport in the city of Karachi.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it had received with great sadness the news that many people were killed by the crash of a Pakistan Airlines plane over a residential area near Karachi Airport.
"We wish God the mercy of the victims who lost their lives in this painful incident, and we extend our condolences to the friendly government of Pakistan and the brotherly people of Pakistan," the statement said.
On Friday, Pakistan Air announced the crash of an Airbus A-320 plane, with 90 passengers on board, near Karachi International Airport.
Video clips showed columns of smoke rising from the crash site and ambulance crews rushing to the scene.
The Ministry of Health declared a state of emergency in all Karachi hospitals due to the plane crash.
